Site Signage

A few months ago, Tocci worked with Crate&Barrel to produce temporary mall signage Crate we are building in Natick MA. Our graphic designer played with a few different ideas, but in the end, opted to leverage the model for yet another use - she wrote about it here.

Since she wrote that piece, the signage has been placed. And it looks amazing - I love seeing Crate model images in "real" scale!

Speaking of EMCOR/Dynaelectric..

Jim Bratton sent out this article on how they've adopting Virtual Construction, that specifically speaks about their efforts as an electrical contractor. Very interesting.

Inventor LT AEC Exchange

I was talking to Jim Bratton, from Dyna Electric, yesterday and he mentioned that he was looking at Inventor LT to produce product models that could be used in both AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP - because of the AEC Exchange. The AEC Exchange is described as follows on the Inventor LT page:

Enhance service to your customers by providing 3D models ready for use in their building designs. The AEC Exchange tool creates and publishes simplified 3D representations, intelligent connection points, and additional information in the new ADSK (Autodesk Exchange File) format for use with AutoCAD® MEP, AutoCAD® Architecture, and Revit® software.

Does this mean that AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP may one day be on speaking terms?
